Very expected game in Puebla where 10th ranked Soles (21-15) were defeated by sixth ranked Angeles (23-12) 72-61 on Thursday. Strangely Soles outrebounded Angeles 42-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Venezuelan center Luis Bethelmy (200-86) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Venezuelan guard Diego Guevara (184-77, college: Charlotte) chipped in 18 points. Angeles' coach Nelson Solorzano used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Kevin Kruger (186-83, college: UNLV) produced 17 points and the former international guard Anthony Pedroza (191-79, college: Oregon, agency: Edge Sports) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Angeles has a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 23-12 record. Loser Soles keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Angeles will face Potros (#11) in Ciudad Obregon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Soles will play on the road against Titanes in Mexico City.
