The Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-94 to bring their undefeated streak to 8-0, but the Wolves made the two-time defending champions work for it. While the Lakers have been averaging a league-topping 114 points per game with a 13.6-point margin of victory, the team wanted to build off their recent win against Portland and continue incorporating defense as part of their modus operandi. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the 1-6 Timberwolves are averaging a dreary -17.1 point differential per contest. Wolves forward Kevin Love, who has reportedly been a malcontent due to a lack of playing minutes, tallied 38 minutes and had 23 points with 24 rebounds.
