ASEAN League round 7 most important game was a victory of Filipino Philippine Patriots over 4th placed Singapore Singapore Slingers 87-85 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Singapore Slingers. Philippine Patriots forced 20 Singapore Slingers turnovers. Strangely Singapore Slingers outrebounded Philippine Patriots 59-46 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Singapore Slingers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Donald Little (211-78, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Jordanian guard Rasheim Wright (194-81, college: District of Col.) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Philippine Patriots players scored in double figures. Filipino guard Leonidez Avenido (186) answered with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and American forward Marcus Skinner (201-86, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 29 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Singapore Slingers. Philippine Patriots maintains second place with 8-6 record having just two points less than leader Thailand S., which they share with KL Dragons. Singapore Slingers at the other side keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Philippine Patriots is looking forward to face league's leader Thailand S. in Bangkok in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Singapore Slingers will play at home against Barracudas in Bandar Seri and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
