Regular Season Round 23: N.Orleans H. - Dallas M. 99-97
Date: November 17, 2010
David West denied Dirk Nowitzki a chance to send the New Orleans Hornets to a second straight loss. West scored 17 points and stole the ball from Nowitzki with 2 seconds left to preserve the Hornets' 99-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. After Jason Kidd had forced a turnover on an inbound pass, Dallas, trailing 98-97, was trying to set up for a potential game-winning shot when West stole the ball near midcourt and made one of two free throws for the final margin. The turnover soured an otherwise productive night for Nowitzki, who had 29 points and nine rebounds. Chris Paul had 20 points and 11 assists for New Orleans (9-1), which avenged its first loss of the season Monday night in Dallas. Emeka Okafor had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Marco Belinelli scored 17 and Trevor Ariza added 12. Jason Terry had 16 points in a reserve role and Kidd had 11 points for Dallas. *Courtesy of www.signonsandiego.com
