Qualifying Round Round 2: PHILIPPINES - QATAR 90-68

Philippines rolled over Qatar at the start of Day 2 of the Men's Preliminary Round Group F in China. Philippines tied both records at 1-1 in after 90:68 win in Asian Games. Philippines started with 23-14 in the opening period and never looked behind after. They produced 26-14 in the second frame for 50:28 halftime advantage. In the second half Qatar however started to play better and managed to show great basketball. Again Philippines celebrated 19-18 win in the third period to increase the lead to 23 points after 30 minutes in the court. In the last quarter both squads nailed 22 points each for the final result. Casio JV top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Lassiter Marcio netted 13. Tiu Chris and Slaughter Greg finished the night with 12 points apiece for the winning side. Ngombo Targuy ended up with 18 points in the losing case and Mohammed Baker Ahmad notched 12. In Day 3 Philippines will face Japan that cruised past Iran in the top game of the Day 2 of the Men's Preliminary Round Group F in China. Japan grabbed 2-0 record on top of the group after 57:56 victory. Qatar will play versus Taiwan that beat India.
