Iran celebrated the second win at the Asian Games in China. Veselin Matic team held off India to improve at 2-1 record in Group F. Hamed Afagh accounted for 27 points for Iran. Iran started the game with aggressive defense. They held India to just 14 points taking a 20:14 lead ten minutes into the game. Iran began getting away in the second frame. They established a comfortable 44:29 lead at the interval. India cut the deficit at 11 points early in the third stanza however Iran quickly restored a safe cushion. They accumulated a 19-point advantage with one quarter remaining. India opened the fourth term on an 8:4 run but Iran timely stopped the rot and ran away with the win. Asghar Kardoust provided 17 points for Iran. Mahdi Kamrani and Oshin Sahakian delivered 8 points each for the winners. Japdeep Singh replied with 24 points for India. Yadwinder Singh finished with 17 points and 6 boards in the losing effort.
