Regular Season Round 9: Gotha - Konstanz 76-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended when 12th ranked Konstanz (1-8) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Gotha (2-7) 76-60. American forward Parnell Smith (198-84, college: Buffalo) stepped up with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Rodney Scruggs (190-82) helped with 16 points and 4 assists. Gotha's coach Alexander Khartchenkov used 11-player rotation giving the chance to rest for starting five. The best for the losing side was American guard Michael Lay (175-83, college: Concordia (OR)) with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and his countryman forward Chad McKnight (201-84, college: Morehead St.) with double-double 12 points and 10 rebounds. Konstanz added fourth loss to their record. Despite the victory Gotha (2-7) stay at eleventh position. Konstanz (1-8) on the other side took twelfth place. Gotha are looking forward to the next round to face higher ranked TSV Troester (#7) in Breitenguessbach and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Konstanz will play at home against league's new leader Ehingen (#1) being definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
