China ensured the fifth straight win at Asian Games. They rolled past Jordan to win preliminary Group E. Zhang QingPeng unloaded 31 points to lead the hosts. China will now take on Qatar in the quarterfinal on Wednesday. Jordan also made it into the playoffs as they are set to challenge Iran for the spot in the semis. China stunned their opponents in the opening frame. Jordan accounted for only 8 points facing an 18-point deficit at the first intermission. China went on a 9:3 run to boost the lead early in the second term. The hosts ensured a comfortable 47:15 advantage at halftime. China did not loosen the grip in the third term. They entered the fourth period ahead by as many as 43 points 75:32. Jordan did not stand a single chance in the final ten minutes as China coasted to yet another impressive win at the tournament. Zhou Peng delivered 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists for China. Tang ZhengDong contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. Ali Zaghab replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds for Jordan. Mahd Abdeen netted 8 points and collected 7 rebounds in the loss.
