Semi-Finals Game 7: SOUTH KOREA - JAPAN 55-51

South Korea made it into the Final of 2010 Asian Games. They toppled Japan in the semifinal battle tonight. Kim Joo-Sung came up with 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the winners. It was a tough defensive battle right from the start. The teams teamed up for only 8 points in the first five minutes of the encounter. Korea took the lead but not for too long. Japan went on a 12:3 run to establish a 14:9 lead at the first break. The teams stayed close in the second period. The lead changed hands before South Korea sealed the first half outcome at 27:26. South Korea dominated the boards and it eventually paid off. They went on a spurt late in the third quarter to pile up a 46:38 lead at the final intermission. Japan struggled to get within striking distance in the final minutes. They did so finally but South Korea did not panic and celebrated a historic victory at the end. Cho Sung-Min delivered 12 points for South Korea. Lee Seung-Jun netted 8 points and collected 8 rebounds in the victory. Kosuke Takeuchi answered with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Japan. Takumi Ishizaki notched 14 points in the losing effort.
