Regular Season Round 7: Turk Telekom - Galatasaray 69-97
Date: November 27, 2010
The most interesting game of round 7 was home defeat of 11th ranked Turk Telekom by fifth ranked Galatasaray who outscored them by 28 points 69-97. It was a great evening for American guard Preston Shumpert (198-79, college: Syracuse) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovakian power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, college: St.Cloud St., agent: Misko Raznatovic) helped adding 13 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Slovenian-Italian guard Sani Becirovic (195-81) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and former international center Umit Turkoglu (211-81, agent: Murat Yenal) with 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players and gave the chance to rest for starting five. Despite the victory Galatasaray (5-2) stay at fifth position. Turk Telekom (2-5) on the other side took eleventh place as they recorded their fifth loss. Galatasaray are looking forward to the next round to face league's second-placed Banvit in Balikesir and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Turk Telekom will play at home against Efes Pilsen (#3) hoping to prove their supporters that it was just an accident.
