Regular Season Round 13: Groningen - Weert 73-64

In the Martininplaza, GasTerra Flames Groningen had to make do with Robby Bostain, Matt Haraysz, Ross Bekkering, Steve Ross and Sander de Roos in street clothes, but still managed to find a way to win past BS Weert 73-64. The Flames won despite the gallant effort of Dutch league leading scorer Glenn Stokes, who was hot like a firecracker at the end of the 1st quarter (18 pts.). Stokes scored 26 of BS Weerts 36 pts. at the end of the 1st half, which was tied at 36-all. But Stokes couldnt do it alone. What the Flames did was make sure that the scoring prowess play of Stokes didnt resonate on the other BS Weert players, who also didnt get enough to the free throw line (only 5 of 6 from the line, all courtesy of Stokes). Plus it played in Donars favor on the glass, with the duo of Jason Ellis and John Turek owning the paint (32 total rebounds, only 6 less than the entire BS Weert team!), and getting to the free line, albeit only making 13 of 26. Turek led Donar with 22 pts. and pulled down 14 boards, Jason Dourisseau added 15 with 5 steals, Matt Otten had 12 and Ellis had 18 boards. Stokes was the only BS Weert player in double figures with 36 pts. on 11 of 14 shooting. Gas Terra Flames remain undefeated improving to 13-0, while the Limburgers fall to 6-7. *by Sanders Jackson
