Regular Season Round 7: JuveCaserta - Cantu 73-65

There was an upset when higher ranked Bennet Cantu (4-3) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Pepsi Caserta (2-5) 73-65. It was a great evening for American forward Jumaine Jones (201-79, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory with double-double 13 points and 12 rebounds. Nigerian-American swingman Ebi Ere (195-81, college: Oklahoma) helped adding 6 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (203-85, agent: Misko Raznatovic) with 11 points (made all of his seven free throws). Bennet Cantu's coach Andrea Trinchieri tried 10 players and giving the chance to rest for starting five. That victory allowed Pepsi Caserta (2-5) to climb to thirteenth place. They share it with Lottomatica. Bennet Cantu (4-3) on the other side took fourth position as they recorded their third loss. Pepsi Caserta are looking forward to the next round to face higher ranked Vanoli CR (#9) in Cremona and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bennet Cantu will play at home against Ford Sassari (#10) hoping to win this game.
