Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: MIA Tbilisi (#1) and GTU Tbilisi (#11). GTU Tbilisi was smashed at home by 26 points 83-109. It was a good game for naturalized Azerbaijan forward Davit Barbakadze (203-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. The former international center Davit Imnadze (208-85) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Zviad Antadze (198-88, college: Monroe Coll.) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Beqa Chikviladze (195-91) added 17 points respectively for GTU Tbilisi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players which allowed his starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for MIA Tbilisi, while GTU Tbilisi lost their seventh straight game in a row. They maintains first position. GTU Tbilisi still closes the standings with seven games lost. MIA Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena GSAU Tbilisi.
