There was no surprise in Tampico where 11th ranked Ola Verde (15-15) was defeated by ninth ranked Huracanes (22-14) 89-80. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Huracanes outrebounded Ola Verde 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Albert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Bahamas forward Aaron Eneas (202-78, agency: Promotex) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) added 18 points respectively for Ola Verde in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Huracanes has a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lechugueros and Lobos Grises. Newly promoted Ola Verde dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Huracanes' next round opponent will be again Ola Verde (#12) in Poza Rica which should be theoretically an easy game.
