Regular Season Round 14: Den Bosch - Groningen 74-59
Date: December 2, 2010
This week in Dutch basketball action, tonight in the Maaspoort being that Eiffel Towers Den Bosch send defending Dutch champions GasTerra Flames Groningen to their 1st domestic loss, with controlling the tempo and controlling the boards playing a big factor, sending Eiffel to a convincing 74-59 win. The Flames also could not establish their perimeter game to balance out their potent inside attack. The ability of Eiffel point guard Frank Turner to get into the lane and create for others paid dividends, with Turner leading all scorers with 21 pts. and 6 assists. Marcel Aarts also payed strong, with a double-double of 12 pts. and 11 rebounds. Jason Dourisseau led the Flames with 13 pts. While both teams turned the ball over a lot (21 times each), what helped Eiffel was the fact that they controlled the glass, made their free throws (16 of 19), and they had more balanced scoring. The Flames made only 2 of 13 three-pointers. With the win, Eiffel improves to 9-5, while Gas Terra Flames are now 13-1. *by Sanders Jackson
