Regular Season Round 8: Chernomorets - Levski Sofia 71-109
Date: December 4, 2010
Second-ranked Levski had no problems on the court of Chernomorets (#5) in Burgas. Levski (7-1) outscored Chernomorets (3-5) with a record 38 points 109-71. The winners were led by American swingman Aaron Harper (199-81, college: Mississippi, agent: Jamie Knox) who scored that evening 28 points and 4 assists and FYR Macedonian power forward Gjorgji Cekovski (202-79, agent: Arik Krayn) who supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Levski players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by the former international center Priest Lauderdale (221-73, college: Central State) did not help to save the game for Chernomorets. The former international swingman Simeon Naydenov (201-81, college: Louisville) added 15 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Levski (7-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Despite the victory they stay at second position having just two points less than leader Lukoil Academik. Chernomorets who is 3-5 is currently in fourth place as they suffered their fifth loss. Levski's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena Lukoil Academik.
