Regular Season Round 7: Iraklis - Panathinaikos 44-87
Date: December 4, 2010
Second-ranked Panathinaikos had no problems on the court of Iraklis (#11) in Thessaloniki. Panathinaikos (7-0) outscored Iraklis (2-5) with a record 43 points 87-44. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida, agent: Arik Krayn) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 assists. Central African swingman Romain Sato (194-81, college: Xavier) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. Forward Fotis Lambropoulos (206-83) answered with 8 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Terrell Everett (193-84, college: Oklahoma, agent: Yossi Gayer) added 10 points in the effort for Iraklis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Panathinaikos, while Iraklis lost their fourth straight game in a row. The victory allowed current champions Panathinaikos (7-0) to take over a leadership position. They share it with Olympiakos. Iraklis who is 2-5 went down to twelfth place. Panathinaikos' opponent will be Aris (#7) in Thessaloniki in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Iraklis will play at home against Marousi (#9).
