Regular Season Round 43: Dallas M. - Golden St.W. 105-100
Date: December 7, 2010
Tuesday night's 105-100 loss to Dallas is a perfect example of why this stretch of the Warriors' schedule has a chance to be so frustrating. Four games into the seven-game span, this reality started to set in: The Warriors simply might not be able to beat the league's elite teams. The Warriors shared the ball, tried to play defense, rebounded and showed the energy necessary to win on the road. Still, the Mavericks were able to turn it on in the clutch and dash the Warriors' hopes in front of the 370th consecutive sellout at American Airlines Center. Like clockwork, the Mavericks stretched their lead to eight points - their biggest - in the final five minutes, but a Monta Ellis dunk with 3:08 remaining cut the Warriors' deficit to 92-89. Over the final three minutes, Dallas made 4 of 5 shots, while the Warriors had two turnovers and clanked 5 of 9 shots. "It's frustrating," point guard Stephen Curry said. "You don't go out every game and play as hard as you can just to lose and to feel down in the locker room." Curry led four starters in double figures with 21 points. David Lee had 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Ellis had 18 points and seven assists, and Dorell Wright had his third consecutive double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds). The fifth starter, Andris Biedrins, had eight points and 11 rebounds as the Warriors stayed within a rebound of Dallas. The Warriors' balanced offense outshot the Mavs from the floor and the three-point arc and outscored Dallas in the paint and in transition. *Courtesy of www.sfgate.com
