A1 round 7 most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Athinaikos (#1) and Panathinaikos (#3). Panathinaikos was defeated at home 56-69 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended the two-game winning streak of Panathinaikos. American power forward LaToya Davis (186-84, college: Texas Tech) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!). At the losing side American guard Jennifer Derevjanik (175-82, college: George Mason) responded with 17 points and Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (185-87, college: Drexel) scored 9 points. Athinaikos is looking forward to face Aris (#3) in Thessaloniki in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
