Second ranked Filipino Philippine Patriots (8-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Malaysian KL Dragons (8-6) 73-71 in the fight for the second place. KL Dragons were ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 24-13 charge of Philippine Patriots, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded KL Dragons 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American-Jordanian guard Rasheim Wright (194-81, college: District of Col.) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. American forward Steve Thomas (203-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) helped adding 10 points and 15 rebounds. Philippine Patriots' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Nakiea Miller (205-79, college: Iona) responded with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Canadian-American forward Alexander Hartman (201-85, college: Concordia (OR)) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four KL Dragons players scored in double figures. Philippine Patriots maintains second place with 8-6 record having just two points less than leader Thailand S., which they share with defeated KL Dragons.
