Regular Season Round 19: Panasonic T. - Hitachi SR 84-69

Round 19 most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Osaka: Panasonic Trians (#3) and Hitachi Sunrockers (#6). Panasonic Trians (11-8) won against visiting Hitachi Sunrockers (8-11) 84-69. It was a great evening for international guard Makoto Nagayama (184-77) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). International guard Hiroyuki Kinoshita (178-80) helped adding 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Panasonic Trians players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Tyler Smith (203-80, college: Penn St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international center Joji Takeuchi (206-85) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite the victory Panasonic Trians stay at third position having just three points less than leader Aishin. Hitachi Sunrockers is currently in fifth place with a 8-11 record as they suffered their eleventh loss. Panasonic Trians' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Osaka Hitachi Sunrockers.
