Superleague round 8 most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: TSU (#4) and MIA (#1). TSU (6-3) won against visiting MIA (7-1) 94-85. TSU was tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. TSU shot 25 for 39 from the free-throw line, while MIA only scored five points from the stripe. Center Richard Matiashvili (209-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Zurab Korkotadze (194-83) contributed with 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Davit Imnadze (208-85) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Besik Lezhava (193-86) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for MIA. Five TSU and four MIA players scored in double figures. MIA's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. TSU did not change their fourth position in the standings. MIA managed to keep top place. They have the same record like Army. MIA will play next round against Energy Invest trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TSU will try to continue on it's current victory against ninth ranked GSAU. It will be extra interesting game as GSAU is their local rival from Tbilisi.
