There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 12th ranked Iraklis (2-6) were defeated by ninth ranked Marousi (4-4) 68-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually win the game 68-59. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Nestor Kommatos (203-77) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and Croatian center Dalibor Bagaric (217-80) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Marousi's coach Vangelis Alexandris used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Giannis Demertzis (194-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Fotis Lambropoulos (206-83) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Marousi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Iraklis lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Marousi will meet at home PAOK (#7) in the next round. Iraklis' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena Aris.
