Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Hapoel Tivon (7-4) defeated 8th ranked Hod Hasharon (4-6) in Kiryat Tivon 107-101 on Tuesday. Hod Hasharon was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 17-point lead after three quarters before a 41-24 charge of Hapoel Tivon, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Hod Hasharon turnovers. Strangely Hod Hasharon outrebounded Hapoel Tivon 52-40 including 39 on the defensive glass. American swingman Tramaine Stevens (200-87, college: Morehead St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Guard Bar Timor (192-92, agency: Avi Zilberman) contributed with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Jitim Young (188-81, college: Northwestern, agency: Edge Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized American guard Oren Menskey (180-85, college: St.Gregory) added 22 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hod Hasharon. Five Hapoel Tivon and four Hod Hasharon players scored in double figures. Hod Hasharon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Tivon jumped to the third spot. They share the position with Megido/Yokneam and Maccabi HBK. Hod Hasharon dropped to the ninth place. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
