Regular Season Round 12: Neptunas - Juventus 85-72

We should mention about the upset which took place in Klaipeda, where higher ranked Juventus (6-5) lost to eleventh ranked Neptunas (4-6) in a road game 72-85. The game rather controlled by Neptunas. Juventus managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-21 charity shots (100.0 percent) during the game. Neptunas forced 20 Juventus turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Mantas Ruikis (198-85) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Martynas Mazeika (190-85, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Neptunas' coach Rytas Vaisvila allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Marius Prekevicius (196-84, college: S.Florida, agency: Interperformances) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Juventus. Five Juventus players scored in double figures. Neptunas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aiscai Kaunas. Juventus at the other side keep the fifth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
