Regular Season Round 5: Apoel - Zadar 61-56

Apoel beat Zadar in Nicosia to tie both records in Group G of EuroChallange. The team from Cyprus enjoyed 61:56 victory to stay alive for Sweet 16. Next week, Apoel will host Group G leaders Pinar Karsiyaka while Zadar must square off against ETHA Encomi. Both sides traded baskets throughout the early going and then Tiggs nailed three for 10:7. The home side maintained their lead to head into the second period leading 20:7. Buljan continued the run in the start of the second frame and Vladovic reduced to 22:9. Ivanov drove a lay-up for 29:21 and Marcinkovic closed the period at 36:24. Tiggs made a jump shot to open the third quarter, while Vladovic and Car nailed threes each for 40:32. Ivanov later reduced to 47:41 and Tomas closed the period at 53:43. In the final quarter of play the Zadar tried valiantly to get themselves back into the game. Vladovic managed to cut it to 56:52, while he made another free throw for 59:53. Apoel however won the game due to the last basket of Buljan. Tiggs paced all the winners with 19 points for the valuable victory. Hanavan collected 15 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Lee added 10. Vladovic replied with 24 points in defeat and Car netted 11.
