Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Lokomotiva Plzen (1-11) was defeated at home by seventh ranked BC Kolin (6-7) 88-74. The game rather controlled by BC Kolin. Lokomotiva Plzen managed to win fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Kolin outrebounded Lokomotiva Plzen 43-28 including 28 on the offensive glass. American guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) notched 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Brad Jones (186-85, college: Wyoming, agency: Stanley International) who supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five BC Kolin players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 4 assists by the former international guard Stepan Vrubl (186-76) did not help to save the game for Lokomotiva Plzen. Center Pavel Frana (212-77) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Lokomotiva Plzen's coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory allowed BC Kolin (6-7) to climb to the sixth place. They share it with B&W Opava. Lokomotiva Plzen is currently in tenth position with a 1-11 record as they suffered their eleventh loss. BC Kolin will play against higher ranked NH Ostrava (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lokomotiva Plzen will play against the league's second-placed BK Pardubice (#2) to get more than just one victory in their record.
