Bottom-ranked Siarka managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of nine consecutive loses on Friday night. This time newly promoted Siarka won against tenth-ranked SKK Kotwica in Kolobrzeg 97-87. The game was mostly controlled by Siarka. SKK Kotwica managed to win third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where SKK Kotwica used huge preassure winning it 23-12 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-18s. Siarka made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Filipino-American guard Stanley Pringle (185-87, college: Penn St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Kevin Goffney (196-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Siarka players scored in double figures. American guard Ted Scott (188-85, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) responded with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and the other American import center Darrell Harris (208-84, college: Rhode Island) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. SKK Kotwica's coach Dariusz Szczubial tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Siarka maintains twelfth place with 2-9 record. SKK Kotwica lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Siarka will meet higher ranked Polpharma (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKK Kotwica will play against Asseco Prokom (#5) in Gdynia and hope to secure a win.
