And finally worth to mention about is a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#2) and AEK (#10). AEK was crushed at home by 17 points 78-95. The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. AEK managed to win fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Panathinaikos outrebounded AEK 34-18 including a 26-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Kostas Tsartsaris (210-79) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Panathinaikos' coach Zeljko Obradovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Four AEK players scored in double figures. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Panathinaikos. Of course defending champion (9-0) maintains a top position. They share it with Olympiakos.
