And finally worth to mention about is a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#2) and AEK (#10). AEK was crushed at home by 17 points 78-95. The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. AEK managed to win fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Panathinaikos outrebounded AEK 34-18 including a 26-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Kostas Tsartsaris (210-79) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Panathinaikos' coach Zeljko Obradovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
