Seventh-ranked ABA Strumica (5-9) made lots of trouble for second ranked MZT Skopje (12-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Skopje managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 24-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Center Kiril Nikolovski (210-88, agency: Interperformances) fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Serbian forward Nenad Zivcevic (204-87) chipped in 12 points. Four MZT Skopje players scored in double figures. Petre Cvetkov produced 15 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and American guard Jeremiah Boswell (194-82) added 17 points respectively for lost side. MZT Skopje have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-2 record behind leader Feni Indistrija. Newly promoted ABA Strumica dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ovce Pole and Lirija. MZT Skopje are looking forward to face Kumanovo 2009 (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ABA Strumica will play against Pelister Bitola and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
