Very important is a home loss of third ranked Khimky (4-2) against sixth ranked CSKA Moscow (4-2) on Sunday night. Host Khimky was defeated by sixth ranked CSKA Moscow (4-2) in Khimki 85-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Khimky. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Moscow. Khimky managed to win third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSKA Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Khimky's 30. The former international guard J.R. Holden (185-76, college: Bucknell) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International center Andrey Vorontsevich (204-87) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. International forward Sergey Monya (204-83) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Five CSKA Moscow and four Khimky players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory allowed current champions CSKA Moscow (4-2) to climb to the third place. They share it with defeated Khimky. CSKA Moscow will meet Krasnie Krilya (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Khimky will play against the league's second-placed Lokomotiv (#2) in Kuban and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
