Very important is a road loss of third ranked Niigata Albirex (10-10) against fourth ranked Akita Happinets (8-14) on Sunday night. Visiting Niigata Albirex was defeated by fourth ranked Akita Happinets (8-14) in a tough game in Akita 81-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-16. But Niigata Albirex won second period 27-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akita Happinets players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Impact Basketball) scored 31 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) chipped in 23 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American power forward Zachary Andrews (203-85, college: Bradley) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets maintains fourth position with 8-14 record, which they share with Shimane. Niigata Albirex at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
