Regular Season Round 14: Perlas - Siauliai 78-89

Date: December 28, 2010
Not a big story in a game in Vilnius where 12th ranked Perlas (3-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Siauliai (6-4) 89-78 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-78. Siauliai looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) who scored 28 points. American center David Weaver (211-87, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Aidas Viskontas (185-86) produced 26 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Siauliai has a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Techasas. Loser Perlas keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
