The game between fourth ranked Guandong Tigers (7-2) and 5th ranked Bayi Fubang (6-4) in Dongguan on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guandong Tigers outscored guests from Ningbo 116-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bayi Fubang. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Bayi Fubang managed to win fourth quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Bayi Fubang's 34. Guandong Tigers outrebounded Bayi Fubang 54-29 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bayi Fubang's players. It was a very good performance for international swingman ShiPeng Wang (197-83) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward FangYu Zhu (201-83) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Bo Zhang (200-89) replied with 17 points and the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Bayi Fubang. Five Bayi Fubang players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guandong Tigers has a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Bayi Fubang keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Jiangsu Dragons (#6) in Nanjing in the next round. Bayi Fubang will play on the road against Fujian SBS XunXin in Jinjiang.
