Regular Season Round 10: Aris - Marousi 86-63
Date: January 5, 2011
The game in Thessaloniki supposed to be quite interesting. 6th ranked Marousi (5-5) played at the court of seventh ranked Aris (6-4). Aris smashed Marousi 86-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Marousi. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Marousi managed to win second period 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Marousi's 32. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward P.J. Tucker (198-85, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Pierre Pierce (193-83, college: Iowa, agency: Lanshire Group) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Aris players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican guard David Huertas (196-87, college: Mississippi) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian-Bosnian guard Feliks Kojadinovic (197-79, agency: BeoExcell) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Marousi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aris moved-up to third place, which they share with VAP Kolossos and Kavala. Marousi at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Aris' next round opponent will be AEK (#10) in Athens and are hoping to win another game. Marousi will play at home against Ilysiakos (#14) in Athens.
