Regular Season Round 13: TU/Rock - Perlas 85-70

Rather predictable result in Tartu where fifth ranked Estonian TU/Rock (8-4) defeated 9th ranked Lithuanian Perlas (5-8) 85-70 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by TU/Rock. Perlas managed to win fourth quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TU/Rock shot 60.4 percent from the field and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American power forward Callistus Eziukwu (208-85, college: Grand Valley St.) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and guard Rain Veideman (192-91) chipped in 14 points and 4 steals. At the losing side forward Eimantas Bendzius (203-90) responded with 16 points and guard Dovydas Redikas (193-92) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Estonian champion maintains fifth place in Elite with 8-4 record. Loser Perlas keep the ninth position with eight games lost. TU/Rock will face TTU/Kalev (#10) in Tallinn in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Perlas will play at home against VEF Riga.
