Regular Season Round 24: Delikatesas - KTU 84-60

Bottom-ranked Delikatesas managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they outleveled thirteenth-ranked Erelita-KTU in Joniskis 84-60. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference proves that Delikatesas was well-prepared to that game. The game without a history. Delikatesas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Erelita-KTU's 32. It was a good game for center Julius Jucikas (205-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Swingman Zilvinas Petraitis (194-88) contributed with 22 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Guard Vytautas Pliauga (183-84) replied with 13 points and guard Matas Sapiega (180-90) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Erelita-KTU. Erelita-KTU's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Delikatesas (6-16) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Puntukas. Erelita-KTU at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Delikatesas will play against higher ranked Triobet Malsta (#10) in Jonava in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Erelita-KTU will play on the road against the league's second-placed Meresta (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
