TB2L top team - Genc Banvit (10-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Darussafaka (6-6) in Balikesir 88-58. The game without a history. Genc Banvit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Darussafaka's 38. Genc Banvit outrebounded Darussafaka 41-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for forward Cenk Sekeroglu (200-91, agency: EM-PA) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) contributed with 7 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Genc Banvit players scored in double figures. American guard Brandon Gordon (201-85, college: Alabama St., agency: EM-PA) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Yunus Sonsirma (192-92) added 10 points in the effort for Darussafaka. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Genc Banvit have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 10-2 record. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Genc Banvit's next round opponent will be Genc Telekom (#5) in Ankara. Darussafaka will play at home against the league's second-placed Orman Genc in Ankara and be promoted back to the TBL just one year after relegation.
