Regular Season Round 14: Singapore S. - Barracudas 102-61

Fourth ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (7-7) crushed at home 6th ranked Brunei Barracudas (3-11) by 41 points 102-61, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Singapore Slingers. Barracudas managed to win fourth quarter 29-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Barracudas to just 2 points in first quarter. Singapore Slingers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Barracudas' 50. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Skinner (201-86, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Filipino guard Leonidez Avenido (186) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. Singapore Slingers' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Chris Commons (204-84, college: USC Aiken) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import center Christopher Garnett (211-80, college: Indiana SE) added 25 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Singapore Slingers maintains fourth position with 7-7 record. Barracudas lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Singapore Slingers will meet league's leader Thailand S. in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Barracudas will play against the league's second-placed KL Dragons (#2) in Kuala Lumpur and hope to secure a win.
