Regular Season Round 13: Elitzur Ramla - Maccabi Ashdod 68-66

Third-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (8-5) was very close to win a game against first ranked Elitzur Ramla (12-1) on Monday. Elitzur Ramla managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Elitzur Ramla outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 43-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Tanisha Wright (180-83, college: Penn St., agency: LBM Management) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Renee Montgomery (170-86, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) added 25 points in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Elitzur Ramla have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Elitzur Ramla are looking forward to face Elitzur Netanya (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
