Regular Season Round 14: Ulriken Elite - Gimle BBK 72-67

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bergen: Ulriken (#3) and Gimle (#5). Ulriken (9-3) won against visiting Gimle (4-8) 72-67. Gimle was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The former international guard Audun Eskeland (175-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!). Guard Ali Ouakkaha (185-90) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Guard Stian Enge (190-90) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Peter Bullock (198-82, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Gimle. Ulriken have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-3 record behind leader Tromso. Gimle at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Kristiansand. Ulriken are looking forward to face Kristiansand (#6) at home in the next round. Gimle will play against Froya in Laksevag and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
