Quimsa celebrated a vital win at the Liga Americas Group C action. After losing to Flamengo in the opener Quimsa came up with a comfortable win over Espanol de Talca in the second round. Diego Lo Grippo knocked down 18 points as Quimsa caught up with Espanol de Talca at 1-1 record. Quimsa left little chance for the Chilean team right from the start. Quimsa held their opponents to just 6 points in the starting frame to take a 15-point lead. Quimsa maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They recorded a massive 42:18 lead at halftime. Espanol de Talca struggled to change the complexion of the encounter. The Argentinean team enjoyed a 67:42 lead at the final break and rallied to the victory at the end. Dionisio Gomez Camargo notched 14 points for Quimsa. Julio Mazzaro added 10 points in the win. Peter Kvietek answered with 20 points and 14 rebounds for Espanol de Talca. Guillermo Araujo had 13 points and 9 rebounds in defeat.
