Regular Season Round 16: Dragons - Kirchheim 81-85

Date: January 14, 2011
Everything went according to plan when third ranked Kirchheim Knights (11-5) defeated on the road 13th ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (5-11) 85-81 on Friday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The winners were led by American power forward Ryan De Michael (205-77, college: Tennessee-Martin) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Cedric Brooks (185-80, college: Pittsburg St.) supported him with 23 points and 5 steals. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Sanijay Watts (193-87, college: Cent.Missouri, agency: Limelight Hoops) did not help to save the game for Dragons Rhoendorf. Center Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann (207-90) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Kirchheim Knights and five Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Kirchheim Knights have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-5 record having four points less than leader B.Muenchen, which they share with Chemnitz. Newly promoted Dragons Rhoendorf keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Kirchheim Knights will meet at home BV Chemnitz 99 (#4) in the next round. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Crailsheim Merlins (#6) and hope to secure a win.
