Regular Season Round 26: Delikatesas - Mazeikiai 86-89

Eleventh-ranked Delikatesas (7-17) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Mazeikiai (16-9) in Joniskis on Saturday. The visitors from Mazeikiai managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Delikatesas. Delikatesas cut a 13-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Mazeikiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll.) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Jason Warren (201-84, college: Missouri Western) chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Warren is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Swingman Zilvinas Petraitis (194-88) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and center Julius Jucikas (205-89) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Mazeikiai maintains sixth position with 16-9 record. Loser Delikatesas keeps the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Mazeikiai will face league's second-placed Meresta in Pakruojis in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Delikatesas will play on the road against LKKA-Atletas (#4) in Kaunas.
