Indonesian Satria Muda (#5) forced the game against Filipino Philippine Patriots (#3) into an overtime, but lost by three points 74-77 on Saturday night. The game took place in Jakarta. But the guests from Manila were better at the end. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Satria Muda. Satria Muda trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 19-7 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 3-6. Philippine Patriots dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Satria Muda's 30. They outrebounded Satria Muda 55-38 including a 34-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Steve Thomas (203-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds. Forward Gabe Freeman (198-85, college: Costa Mesa JC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Philippine Patriots' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Antoine Broxsie (209-79, college: Oklahoma St.) added 17 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Satria Muda. Four Satria Muda players scored in double figures. Philippine Patriots (9-6) moved-up to second place. Satria Muda at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
