Halcones Rojos got to the winning start of their Liga Americas campaign. They toppled Sionista de Parana in overtime in Group D. Lawrence Hill knocked down 21 points to pace the winners. Sionista and Rojos opened the game on a full speed. They teamed up for 51 points in the first stanza as Sionista grabbed a one-point lead. Halcones Rojos reacted stiffing their defense in the second term. They limited Sionista to 11 points taking an 8-point lead at halftime. Sionista however rebounded after the big break and leveled things up at 80 after a three-pointer from Juan Manuel Locatelli. Halcones Rojos proved the difference in the extra frame claiming a tough victory. Carlos Rivera and Jaime Lloreda scored 15 points each for Halcones Rojos. Juan Manuel Locatelli answered with 28 points for Sionista. Alejandro Zilli provided 17 points and 13 boards in defeat.
