Regular Season Round 85: Golden St.W. - Indiana P. 110-108
Date: January 19, 2011
Monta Ellis hit a game winning jumper with just 0.6 seconds left in the game as the Golden State Warriors beat the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night. With 18.1 seconds left on the clock, Ellis took the inbound pass and held the ball until the clock was down to a few seconds remaining, started to drive to the right, crossed over left, and hit the game winning jumper from just to the left of the free throw line. Pacers still had a chance to tie or win the game. Mike Dunleavy threw the ball towards the basket, but the tip by Tyler Hansbrough came up short of the rim with good defense from Brandan Wright, and the Warriors escaped with their third consecutive victory. Ellis had his usual monster numbers game. He had 36 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. He shot well from the field, going 16-28 from the field, 2-3 from both the 3 point line and the free throw line. Ellis hit two big 3's at the end of the second quarter to bring the Warriors to within five at half time. David Lee and Dorell Wright each had 21 points. The bench was not a factor tonight, although Brandan Wright energized the Warriors on both ends of the floor with his fourth quarter play. He had 6 points, 4 rebounds (2 offensive), and 1 steal in the quarter. The Warriors bench was outscored in the game 32 to 13. Acie Law had the other 7 bench points. The bench was 5-16 from the field and did not score until 28.3 seconds left in the third quarter when Law hit 1 of 2 free throws. *Courtesy of www.examiner.com
