Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik: IR (#10) and KFI (#12). IR (5-9) won against visiting KFI (2-12) 92-82. The game was mostly controlled by IR. KFI managed to win third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when IR won last quarter 27-19. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American forward Kelly Biedler (196-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Serbian-Canadian forward Nemanja Sovic (198-77, college: Pfeiffer) contributed with 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Darco Milosevic (196) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian-Slovenian forward Marko Milicevic (204-82, agency: SportsList Inc.) added 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for KFI. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. KFI's coach B.J. Aldridge let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. IR moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hamar and Fjolnir. KFI lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. IR's next round opponent will be higher ranked Tindastoll (#7) in Sauoarkrokur and it may be quite challenging game. KFI will play at home against the league's leader Snaefell (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
