Regular Season Round 16: TU/Rock - Rudupis 86-62

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tartu. Second ranked Estonian host TU/Rock (11-5) smashed one of their biggest challengers Lithuanian Rudupis (10-6) 86-62. It was a key game for the second position in Elite. The game was mostly controlled by TU/Rock. Rudupis managed to win fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Georgian guard Georgi Tsintsadze (192-86) fired 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Callistus Eziukwu (208-85, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. TU/Rock's coach Indrek Visnapuu felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Povilas Butkevicius (201-87) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Adas Juskevicius (194-89) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Defending Estonian champion maintains second position in Elite with 11-5 record behind leader VEF Riga. Rudupis at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. TU/Rock will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rudupis will play against Nevezis (#6) in Kedainiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
