Leader Tampereen Pyrinto recorded the twentieth fifth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Espoo Honka (17-12) 91-77. The game was mostly controlled by Tampereen Pyrinto. Espoo Honka managed to win second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tampereen Pyrinto made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo) had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Antwine Williams (192-75, college: N.Colorado, agency: Prossin Sports Management) chipped in 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Corey Belser (200-82, college: San Diego) with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center John Williamson (198-86, college: Cincinnati) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tampereen Pyrinto (25-6) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Espoo Honka at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Tampereen Pyrinto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Espoo Honka will play against Joensuun Kataja (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
